Product Specification: Threaded Socket SS 316L

Material:

• Stainless Steel 316L: A high-performance austenitic stainless steel known for its excellent corrosion resistance, especially in chloride-containing environments. It offers superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion compared to standard 316 stainless steel.  

Dimensions:

• Nominal Pipe Size (NPS): [Specify the required NPS, e.g., 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, etc.]
• Thread Type: [Specify the thread type, e.g., NPT, BSPT, etc.]
• Socket Size: [Specify the socket diameter]
• Socket Depth: [Specify the socket depth]
• Wall Thickness: [Specify the wall thickness]

Manufacturing Standards:

• ASME B16.11: This standard covers forged fittings, including socket-welding fittings, in sizes NPS 1/8 through 4.  

Quality Assurance:

• Material Certification: Mill test certificates (MTCs) shall be provided to verify the chemical composition and mechanical properties of the stainless steel.
• Dimensional Inspection: Fittings shall be inspected to ensure compliance with dimensional tolerances specified in ASME B16.11.
• Hydrostatic Test: Fittings shall be hydrostatically tested to verify pressure ratings.  
• Visual Inspection: Fittings shall be visually inspected for surface defects, such as cracks, porosity, and other imperfections.

Surface Finish:

• Mill Finish: A standard finish that is suitable for most applications.
• Polished Finish: A smoother finish that can improve appearance and corrosion resistance.

Marking:

• Manufacturer’s Mark: The manufacturer’s identification mark shall be stamped on each fitting.
• Material Grade: The material grade (SS 316L) shall be stamped on each fitting.
• Size: The nominal pipe size (NPS) shall be stamped on each fitting.

Packaging and Shipping:

• Fittings shall be individually packaged to prevent damage during shipping and handling.
• Packaging materials shall be suitable for protection against corrosion and mechanical damage.
